This chicken fried steak is THE best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had. My husband ordered it from Paul’s Coffee Shop, and the chicken fried steak did not disappoint. It’s probably enough to feed four people, at least.
It also comes with a tasty biscuit covered in gravy.
The sides? Eggs and hash browns or home fries.
I chose the spinach, swiss, and mushroom omelette. I also got home fries and a biscuit. The omelette was delicious, but next time, I’m going for the chicken fried steak!
Lastly, an outfit from earlier this week (friend Lola made steak a couple of nights ago and my lucky husband and I were invited to partake).
Outfit: Old Navy Tank (2005), F21 Skirt, Payless Peep Toe Shooties (new!) (2011)
Accessories: Violet Crystal Earrings (gift from my Husband for Valentine’s Day 2008), F21 Ring (2011), Mother of Pearl Cuff (Viet Nam, 2011), Enamel Bracelet (from my sister, few years ago)
Occasion: Hanging Out
Vibe: Relaxed and Edgy (?!)
I had a debate with my husband about getting these shooties for about three days.
“I need something edgy to go with my Obey jacket!” I proclaimed.
“[Shooties] are only popular because of social proof,” he retorted. [Of course, then I asked him what social proof is - I've provided a link for easier explanation.]
“But I like them!” I said.
“Go get them then,” he replied.
“I can’t; you don’t like them and you have a point. Maybe they’re too Fall 2010 or Fall 2009.” (Guess who said that.)
He had nearly convinced me not to get them, but I ended up purchasing them anyway. I went back to the store THREE times to try them on (I’m pretty sure the store clerk was sick of seeing me). I even went to a Ross to look at similar shoes, but the Payless ones were the most comfortable for me and because of how low the shooties dip in the front, I felt like it was more flattering for me than the other shooties that ended a bit higher up on my feet. [The damage? $17.99 pretax - with the BOGO sale, I bought the shoes and some rhinestone bracelets for VEGAS!!! Total damage: $24.75.]
My husband still thinks I’ve escaped from the eighties, though.
I do love these songs from the eighties:
I know that I’m supposed to post a recap of the last six months and how well I did in regards to the shopping ban (not well), but it’ll have to wait for when I get back from Vegas. Friend Jessica‘s bachelorette party is this weekend and our theme, per Lola, the Maid of Honor, is Black and Bling (hence the rhinestone bracelets mentioned above).
VEEEEEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Huh. I didn’t know “A Little Respect” was an 80′s song. I’ve only ever know the version by Wheatus (I didn’t even know it was a cover.)
P/S: It took me a while to figure out what “shooties” mean
Have fun in Vegas!

I thought this was gonna be a recipe post and that you made that fried chicken steak thingy! Darn! =P I always love the dialogue between you and the Husband!! So amusing!! I think “shooties” are still in, but if you like them, it doesn’t matter if it’s “in” or not, right? ^_~ In fact, when it’s not, you’ll look pretty unique being the only person wearing them!
Have fun in Vegas! Do everything that I wouldn’t do! (I don’t do much when I go!)

Thanks, SPG! I actually have not b/c I’m not very tech savvy, but I posed the suggestion to my husband and he said he’d help me, so maybe… ;D Now if only I can get over my fear of video. In any event, I could try to begin by using photos first!
