Vibe: BLACK AND BLING (the theme for the Bachelorette Party)

Back of my hairdo - I don’t even know if I’d be able to redo it – it took a lot of teasing, a lot of hairspray, and a whole lot of bobby pins.

Before Dinner: Sam, Mia, Allie, Ginga, Jessica, Elle, Lola, CC (QfFS/me)

Elle (heh, I just wanted to put this picture in because I thought Elle looked like a model here)

***Dinner at STK (in Cosmopolitan)***

Fresh Baked Bread with Blue Cheese Butter (SO GOOD – I couldn’t even taste the blue cheese!)

Crab & Honeydew Salad

Pear, Endive, and Walnut Salad (wouldn’t recommend this – too much blue cheese dressing; alternatively, you could ask for the dressing on the side – I’m just not a fan of blue cheese…or salad for that matter)

Parmesan Truffle Fries

Mac & Cheese (Ginga and I were the only ones who really liked the mac and cheese – Ginga because she really likes mac and cheese, and me because I loooove mac and cheese and because the noodles were cut in smaller pieces, so I felt like there was more texture)

Asparagus (yep, not much to say about that)

Porterhouse

Dover Sole (the little potatoes were really good)

Ribeye (I think the other girls’ favorite sauce was the chimichurri, but I liked the STK Bold best)

***AFTER DINNER***

How cool is this shoe?  Very steam punk like.  I remember this shoe from my last visit to the Cosmopolitan, but didn’t get to take any pictures next to it.

Me, Sam, Lola, Mia, Jessica, Elle, Allie, Ginga

(From Jessica’s camera)

Another steam punk-looking contraption.

You may be wondering why I titled this post “Spice.”  While we were inside Marquee (Cosmopolitan’s club), Ginga wanted water, so I went with her to the bar.  One of the guys at the bar asked her for her name.  She replied, “Hi, I’m Ginga; what’s your name?”  He said, “Hey, I’m Spice.”

When she retold this story to us all, we could not stop laughing.  In any event, Spice it is.

The best NY pizza I’ve ever had (and I’ve had my fair share of NY pizza in the city) – the Pizzeria inside Cosmopolitan.  I was first introduced to this literal hole-in-the-wall place by my cousin Leo.  If you are ever at the Cosmopolitan, it’s nestled between Blue Ribbon Sushi and the elevator.  It looks like an opening to an arcade and there’s no sit-down area inside, but yes, it houses THE best NY pizza.  Meatball with pepperoncinis and onions on the left (most of the girls’ favorite).  The pizza on the right is pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms.  If I had to order again, I’d probably ask for meatball with pepperoncinis and mushrooms.

So here’s a joke that my husband told me a few months ago:

The Dalai Lama walks into a pizza place.

The person at the counter asks him, “What would you like?”

The Dalai Lama replies, “Make me one with everything.”

Did you get that?  My husband had to explain the joke to me.  Friend Lola understood it immediately, though.

The view from our hotel room (from Jessica’s camera, but I think Ginga took this shot).

I definitely wouldn’t mind going back to Vegas to hear Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. sing some time soon!  I don’t even watch America’s Got Talent – I was just hanging out with Lola (who’s an avid AGT watcher) and AGT was on.  My husband (a huge Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin fan) and I were really impressed with Murphy’s singing.

Do you have any recommendations on places to go or places to eat in Vegas?
